St Helens & Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the leading acute Trusts in the North West of England. We provide a full range of acute adult services to our local population of circa 350,000 and provide tertiary services across a much wider area in the North West, North Wales and Isle of Man. We are a Major Trauma Unit and the Mersey Regional Burns Unit.

These posts offer an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated anaesthetist to join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary acute care in St Helens & Knowsley Teaching Hospitals

Emergency commitments including resident out-of-hours cover, for both the general and obstetric (dependent on experience) rotas. The cover is a resident full shift rota, with a prospective frequency of 1 in 8 on call, with day and night cover, weekdays and weekends.

Elective Work where each list benefits from 5.0 hours or 1.25 PA’s of planned activity, which includes pre-operative assessment, theatre time, recovery and post-operative care.

Supporting Professional Activity.

Candidates should have two years experience of anaesthesia as a specialty trainee, or equivalent experience and competencies. Candidates should have wide range of experience of anaesthesia and be able to demonstrate knowledge, skill and experience in anaesthesia 

This post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS (with barred list for vulnerable adult’s and children’s disclosure).
