Be part of an ambitious and forward thinking Radiology service
Applications are invited for two posts to join our established multidisciplinary team working in a new build hospital with state of the art equipment.
The posts will maintain and increase our current establishment and allow further development of the imaging service including extended day and weekend working. St Helens & Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the leading acute Trusts in the North West of England. We provide a full range of acute adult services to our local population of circa 350,000 and provide tertiary services across a much wider area in the North West, North Wales and Isle of Man. We are a Major Trauma Centre and the Mersey Regional Burns Unit.
The Trust has excellent management, robust systems and innovative processes all of which have underpinned a period of sustained and improved performance as it moves towards Foundation Trust status.
The department operates a 1 in 13 on call rota; with full SPR cover and separate interventional rota.
The Trust provides a full spectrum of breast services including MRI, ultrasound guided intervention, stereotactive wire placements and biopsies. The post would involve both symptomatic and screening work. There may not be a need for an on call component for this post.
The IR department provides a service for and has excellent working relationships with a wide range of surgical and medical specialties including vascular surgery, Gynaecology, Urology and gastroenterology. A wide range of vascular and non-vascular IR services are provided including peripheral arterial procedures, haemorrhage control, embolization (renal, UFE, varicocele), urological and hepato biliary interventions including PCNL and biliary stenting, IVC filters, SVC stenting, biopsies and drainages.
The General posts can accommodate most subspecialty interests.
For all posts applicants must have full GMC Registration and must be on the Specialist Register or be within six months of their CCT from the date of the interview.
These posts will be subject to an Enhanced DBS (with barred list for vulnerable adults and children) disclosure.
