Salary: £16,968 to £19,852 per annum
St Helens & Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the leading acute Trusts in the North West of England. We provide a full range of acute adult services to our local population of circa 350,000 and provide tertiary services across a much wider area in the North West, North Wales and Isle of Man. We are a Major Trauma Unit and the Mersey Regional Burns Unit.
Our '5 Star Patient Care' strategy is at the heart of all that we do; supporting our vision to provide world class services for all our patients by getting it right for every patient, every time.
The Specialist Rehabilitation Unit at St Helens Hospital is part of the Cheshire and Merseyside Rehabilitation Network which provides tailored programmes of rehabilitation to patients who have experienced traumatic illness or injury. Our philosophy is to keep the patient at the heart of everything we do by setting shared goals to keep focus on their progress.
We are looking to recruit a driven and enthusiastic person to the role of Rehabilitation Assistant. The successful applicant will be part of a motivated, forward thinking multidisciplinary team. A flexible approach to day to day tasks is essential in order to meet the demands of the service. Experience of NHS working or working in a hospital setting is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. Participating in the active treatment of patients is an essential part of the role. The successful candidate will work with therapists to carry out rehabilitation interventions as well as have the ability to work unsupervised to carry out treatment plans set by qualified therapists. The role will also include working collaboratively with other professionals and local organisations.
Other responsibilities will include administration tasks including case note entries, housekeeping duties and contributing to service developments.
In return for your hard work and dedication, we can offer a welcoming and stimulating environment and all the support and continuing development you will need to make a difference to patients and staff. In addition to formal supervision, there will be opportunity for peer support with Rehabilitation Assistant colleagues.
This post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS (with barred list for vulnerable adults and children) disclosure.
IMPORTANT - Invitations to interview are sent to the email address you use to apply.
Due to the high volume of applications received, it is not possible to contact unsuccessful candidates individually; therefore if you have not heard anything within 4 weeks of the closing date, please assume that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.
The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
